Account & Profile
1. How do I create an account?
If you don't have an Leshoot account yet, head to Sign In
You can use your email address, G+ account, or even connect through Facebook. Signing up and creating an Leshoot account is totally free, whether you're looking to shoot photos or videos, or list your space!
After you sign up, please be sure to complete your profile.
2. How do I cancel my account?
If you decide to cancel your Leshoot account, go to My Account > Settings > Cancel my account. In order to reopen the account, you'll need to contact us.
When you cancel your account, any reservations you've confirmed—as a host or a guest—will be automatically canceled.
3. How do I change the email address I use for Leshoot?
To change the email address you use on Leshoot:
1 Click your name at the top of Leshoot.com
2 Select My Account
3 In Personal info, Next to Email Address, enter the email address you want to use
4 Click Save at the bottom of the page
Your email address can only be associated with one Leshoot account at a time. If you get a notification that your email address is already in use but you can't remember your password for that account, you might need to change your password.
4. Can I pay with any currency?
We only support a certain number of booking currencies. Currency options differ by country and payment method. However, you can choose to view Leshoot listings in many currencies.
The currency in which you will be charged is listed before you book, after you select a country and a payment method.
When the currency in which you’re paying (booking currency) is different from the currency the host has chosen for their listing (listing currency), we convert your payment using one of these exchange rates:
• We use the adjusted exchange rate, if you are browsing the site and paying in your native currency (according to the billing address on your payment method) and that currency differs from the host's chosen currency.
• We use the base exchange rate in all other cases when we need to convert your payment to the host’s listing currency.
Additionally, if you pay in a currency that’s different from the denominated currency of your payment method, your payment company (for example, your credit or bank card issuer) or third-party payment processor may apply a currency conversion rate or fees to your payment. Please contact your provider for information on what rates and fees may apply, as these are not controlled by or known to Leshoot.
Depending on the country of your payment method, we may be able to process in these currencies:
• Visa/MasterCard: AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY, CZK, DKK, EUR, GBP, HKD, HUF, ILS, JPY, KRW, NOK, NZD, RUB, SEK, SGD, TRY, TWD, USD, ZAR
• JCB: EUR, GBP, JPY, USD
• AMEX: AUD, EUR, GBP, USD
• Discover: USD
• PayPal One Touch: USD
How can I keep my account secure?
We take account security seriously. If you make a change to sensitive account information, we may send you an account or ask you to confirm the change by entering a security code sent to your verified phone number.
Here are a few guidelines to help keep your account safe:
Never enter your login credentials on an unsecured webpage. The beginning of any Leshoot address should start with "https://" and, depending on your browser, you may also see a lock icon.
Keep all payment and communication on Leshoot. We can only help safeguard your account and payment when all communication and related transactions occur within our systems. Leshoot will never ask you to pay elsewhere.to pay elsewhere.
Do not click any links or download any attachments from unverified sources.
Install a pop-up blocker from a trustworthy source or keep your preferred browser updated, installing the latest version whenever possible.
Install a personal firewall and antivirus software. Remember to run scans for viruses and malware frequently, and keep your antivirus software updated. Enable auto-updates on your device so that you're always using the most up-to-date software.
Change passwords regularly and use different passwords across all accounts, including your email account and Leshoot account. recommend that you use a password at least 8-10 characters that contains a unique combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.
Be careful where you enter your passwords. If in doubt, visit https://www.Leshoot.com instead of clicking on an email link, or bookmark our website for easy navigation. Leshoot will never email you asking you to confirm your password.
If you encounter a suspicious profile, listing, or message thread, we encourage you to flat it for review by our Trust and Safety Team.
Very rarely, people who abuse our systems may try to get you to communicate or pay outside Leshoot. These actions can expose you to fraud, scams, or phishing. Never share your email address before a booking is accepted or transfer funds outside the Leshoot system, and always carefully examine emails claiming to be from Leshoot. Examples of common scams include:
- Advance Fee Scam: a type of scam in which an individual offers money or another reward in exchange for you transferring money through various payment services outside of Leshoot.
- Phishing Scam: a type of scam in which someone will send an email or link that is made to look like it's from Leshoot or another trusted site. These messages are designed to trick you into providing confidential information—such as passwords or other email addresses—and may contain malware, which is malicious software that gains access to your computer to gather your personal information, including passwords.
- Travel Scam: a type of scam in which someone will encourage you to secure your "too good to be true" listing by sending payment via wire transfer or with an advanced deposit in order to collect the money without providing the advertised accommodation.
Overpayment Scam: a type of scam in which someone will offer more than what your listing may be worth, and ask you to repay them in cash.
How can I make my password strong?
A strong password makes it harder for people to access your Leshoot account without your permission.
1. Use a different password for each of your important accounts.
For extra security, make sure your Leshoot password is different than the passwords you use for other websites, like your email or bank account. This way, if someone figures out your Leshoot password, they won’t be able to use it to access your other accounts.
You should try to use a different password for all your important accounts.
2. Change your password often.
If someone knows your password, they might be accessing your Leshoot account without you knowing. Changing your password often helps prevent this kind of unauthorized access.
3. Use at least 8 characters and avoid common phrases.
Make sure your password is at least 8 characters long, and try to use a mix of special characters (#, $, &, !, etc.). You should also avoid using common words or phrases in your password, and never include personal information.
For example: houseboat123 is a weak password because it uses a common word and sequence of numbers. H0u5e BoatZ!38 is a stronger alternative because it replaces some letters with numbers and symbols and includes a space.
My account details changed, but I didn’t update them. What should I do?
As a safeguard, we send you an email or SMS alert whenever certain changes are made to your account, such as updates to your password, email address, or payout method. When you receive one of these alerts, make sure it was you who made the change.
Does Leshoot screen users?
Leshoot does not routinely perform background checks on its users, although we reserve the right to do so. Instead, we strive to provide our hosts and guests with the right tools to make informed decisions regarding who they interact with on the site and in the real world.
Leshoot offers a number of features that help build trust and cultivate a transparent community marketplace, including our secure messaging system, user reviews, the Host Guarantee, and Verified ID.
At Leshoot, we want to build the world's most trusted community. To help ensure our members' safety, we dedicate a knowledgeable and experienced team to monitor any suspicious activity in our marketplace.
Users can also help ensure the safety of the community by flagging activity they feel is suspicious or inappropriate. We investigate each flag on a case-by-case basis and follow up as appropriate. In any user profile, listing, or message thread, you will see an icon with a small flag which allows you to notify our team who can investigate.
The user profile flag is located in the lower right-hand corner of any user's description box. The listing flag is located in the upper right-hand corner of any listing's description box. The message thread flag is located in the bottom right-hand corner of any message box.
